Social revolutions

Twitter

Okay, okay, so I’m not one to jump on a bandwagon, but I really think this one is for real.

I’ve been watching the news and you suddenly realise how easy it is to get sucked into the blah, blah, blah of the news readers. They go on and on about swine flu this, murder case that, worst economic readings since another and suddenly, you’ve decided that you want to buy an apartment on the 44th block of Beetham tower just so you can jump off the damn thing.

So, obviously sceptical of the news readers and their ability to make something out of nothing, I was surprised when I found myself going along with the whole ‘social revolution’ idea.

Before blogging, I was naive to the world of Twitter, and even only used my Facebook profile now and again. Uploading my life onto the web had been mediocre in the past, but now, suddenly I feel like I have to share my entire world with, well, the world, really..

Just from Caught*Red-handed you can get to my FaceyB profile, my Twitter feed and a whole host of other sites which I enjoy, the majority of which I have also commented on, so not only is my ‘cyber-footprint’ massive, but it’s also very, very public. I find myself hooked on adding new Twitter updates in my lunch hour and checking FaceyB statuses every two minutes. On top of that, now that I have my own little home here, I get the urge to see if anybody has left a new comment and whether people have emailed me about the site.

So you see, the social revolution really has happened, the proverbial world is becoming proverbially smaller and the news readers, well, let’s let them have this one, right..?
